Bhauma Pradoṣam is the Pradoṣam that falls on a Tuesday, the weekday of Aṅgāraka (Mars). Popular belief holds it especially effective for ṛṇa-vimocana, relief from debts, and for easing chronic health complaints, since Aṅgāraka is linked with blood and vitality in traditional reckoning. No separate kathā is attached beyond this graha association. The dusk abhiṣeka and darśana follow the general Pradoṣam pattern. How the day is fixed: A Pradoṣam day is one on which Trayodaśī prevails at local sunset. When that day is a Tuesday, the pañcāṅga names it Bhauma Pradoṣam. Keep in mind: Sunset differs from place to place, so Trayodaśī may hold at dusk on Tuesday in one city and on a neighbouring day in another. Check the pañcāṅga for your own location before keeping the vow. This year: The 2027 date shown here is worked out from sunrise at the place you chose, so in another city the same day can fall a day earlier or later. Fast: Those who vow it keep a light or phalāhāra fast through the day. The fast is broken the same evening after the Pradoṣa Kāla pūjā, not the next morning. Dusk abhiṣeka: In Pradoṣa Kāla after sunset, devotees attend the liṅga abhiṣeka and darśana. Some households also offer a brief namaskāra to Pārvatī alongside Śiva on this Tuesday. Worth remembering: The Samudra Manthan legend belongs to every Pradoṣam, and the Tuesday adds only a graha emphasis. Bhauma Pradoṣam is also distinct from Maṅgala Gaurī, the Śrāvaṇa Tuesday vow to Gaurī kept on some regional calendars. Whether to fast fully, which stotra to recite and whether to bow to Pārvatī as well differ from family to family. The shared core is the dusk worship of Śiva on a Tuesday Trayodaśī. Beyond that, follow the way the elders of your own house have kept it.
