Choghadiya Muhūrta

Choghadiya divides the day and night into eight segments each, named for classical qualities (Amrit, Shubh, Labh, Char, Udveg, Rog, Kaal). Traders and householders often prefer Amrit, Shubh, and Labh for starting work.

Drikganitha builds the table from your location’s sunrise and sunset (Swiss Ephemeris, Lahiri), then colours each segment by traditional tone. Open the live board below to see today’s running window with a countdown.

Regional calendars (Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Bengali) share the same Choghadiya arithmetic; temple or family custom may still prefer a different list of “good” segments for a given task.
